Auto Barn began as H&M Car Parts of Brooklyn, NY in 1957. This shop in addition to World, their first import-only store, were totally dedicated to the wholesale trade. In 1964, business increased to Long Island with the enhancement of wholesale shops in Freeport as well as Lynbrook. To service our growing team of shops as well as various other independent Jobbers, Rodi Automotive Inc., a Storage Facility Representative, was established at that time. As the do-it-yourself retail market expanded during the 1970's even more shops we opened up which were made to attract both the expert installer as well as the do-it-yourselfer. With the opening of our 7th place in 1980, the name "Auto Barn" was embraced and also all of our stores were revamped with a regular Auto Barn Warehouse store style. At the exact same time, a 50,000 square foot warehouse was built in Port Washington which works as our corporate headquarters.
